AOA Requirements
The following requirements must be met in order to apply for an AOA Membership:
Must be a licensed optician or have a provisional license in Alberta
Must have license number from the Alberta College for Opticians (ACO)
Affiliate members must declare the provinces they are registered to work in and supply a license number
Retired opticians who wish to remain connected must supply license number

For any registered optician in Canada. Must upload a valid license number from their provincial College of Opticians

$65.00 per year
Student eligible for membership at a 50% reduction from a regular AOA membership
Must prove that they are in a post-secondary college (Student ID uploaded or some other proof they are in an optical program)
For students in a post secondary institution in Western Canada. Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT), Northern Institute of Technology (NAIT) Douglas College, Stenberg College.
Alberta students will have access to educational content
Alberta students will have access to all value-added programs
Students in other western provinces will have access to educational content and any value-added program valid outside of Alberta
